Abstract

Feedback plays a central role in contemporary education as a key mechanism for improving learner performance, strengthening self-regulation skills, and promoting long-term academic growth. This article provides a comprehensive analysis of feedback types- descriptive, evaluative, formative, summative, peer, self-assessment, corrective, and digital feedback- and examines their pedagogical functions within modern learning environments. Drawing on established theories of assessment and learner-centered instruction, the paper explores how different forms of feedback influence learner motivation, cognitive engagement, and communicative competence. The discussion highlights the importance of timely, specific, and actionable feedback and emphasizes its transformative role in fostering deep learning.
