Abstract

The article examines the stylistic features of idioms in English and Uzbek. Their expressiveness, imagery and functional role in various speech situations are analysed. Particular attention is paid to comparing the structural and semantic characteristics of fixed expressions, as well as identifying cultural and national factors that influence their use. The study demonstrates both universal and unique features of phraseological units, which allows for a deeper understanding of their significance in intercultural communication and the importance of correct interpretation in the translation process.
